Assignment #6 - Mosaic

For this next assignment we had to compose an entire roll of film on one subject and make a contact print that created a mosaic. I found this very challenging, something about working with film and the permanent  nature of it made it difficult to trust the process I was doing to create the mosaic.

This photo was the centre of the dress that  decided to put into its own mosaic. I also messed up and didn't expose the bottom portion of the photo in the enlarging stage.

I believe that this one had some water that fell off of my arm when I was exposing the photo but the contrast is much better.

This one was better but I still did not expose the very bottom of the photo even though I double checked. I switched easels at this stage because I was getting frustrated wth my contacts prints.

When I printed the mosaic of the dress I wanted to try another. I spent much more time composing this bookcase and taking each photo across the different shelves.

I wanted to try and see if I could double expose the photo and create a mystical ethereal effect during the enlarging stage. Ii only dd the top half to see the difference. The top right of thee photo was very cool to see but overall the double exposure made everything too dark.

This one had some water spots on it from the glass cleaner I used part way through. I wanted to clean the glass because I noticed some finger prints.
